We all know Atlanta is a city full of artistic people, vibrancy and creativity. From incredible street art on every open surface, to the prestige of the High Museum of Art–Atlanta is the place for creatives.
Keeping with our name, The Hollywood of the South, Atlanta has a thriving film industry. Tyler Perry Studios is a permanent fixture and home of some of the most iconic films of all time. Huge blockbusters come from all over the country to shoot here. Most recently, Francis Ford Coppola’s film, Megalopolis, shot here with a star-studded cast.
Film isn’t the only thing thriving here, of course. Recently, during his ‘It’s All A Blur’ tour, Drake called Atlanta the “most important place in rap music.” He continued, “What would any of us be without Atlanta? All the love that you’ve shown. All the musicians that you birthed. All the contributions that you give. This is hands-down the most important place in rap music and you should be very proud of yourselves.” And we are.
And look, for all of us living here, we’ve known that Atlanta is a creative haven for a while, but now it’s official!
After extensive research, data experts at Crucial.com, have deemed Atlanta the “no. 2 city in the U.S. for creatives looking for work.” This means that between the number of people employed in each type of creative role and the number of live vacancies in the creative field, Atlanta is second best for creative people looking for work!
The creative roles specifically studied included SFX artists, Graphic Designers, Producers, Directors, Music directors, Composers, Musicians, Singers, Writers, Photographers, Video Games Developers and Video Editors.
And Atlanta actually came out on top for “the number of creative workers as a proportion of the overall working population.”
Atlanta is just the place for artists of all type to live and work and absolutely thrive!
