We can say with full confidence that we’re not shocked that Atlanta is one of the best state capitals in the whole country. (And of course, we’re not biased at all!) With Atlanta’s rich culture, history and influence, there are so many reasons to love living here!
According to a new study conducted by WalletHub, Atlanta is officially the 5th best state capital to live in!
What are the top five state capitals?
- Austin, TX
- Madison, WI
- Raleigh, NC
- Boise, ID
- Atlanta, GA
Out of a possible score of 100, Atlanta scored a 59.86–which might seem a little low, but for reference, Austin Texas’ total score was just 64.75.
How did WalletHub come up with this data?
To find the best state capitals for people to live in, WalletHub compared all 50 state capitals across four key dimensions:
- Affordability
- Economic Well-Being
- Quality of Education & Health
- Quality of Life
Those dimensions were then evaluated using a compilation of 48 relevant metrics, which you can see here. The experts then graded each metric on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the most livable state capital.
Why is Atlanta such a great place to live?
Atlanta is a great place to live for literally ~countless~ reasons. We’ve got great food, kind people, a deep and beautiful culture, and of course, tons of opportunities. There’s always something fun to do in the ATL! (And trust us, we would know!)
But that doesn’t mean Atlanta is without its problems, too. That just means we’ve got room to become an even better city for everyone who lives here!
All in all, we’re so thankful to live right here in Atlanta! And we’re thrilled to be recognized as one of the best state capitals in the U.S.!
