We recently asked our followers on Instagram to share with us their favorite sushi restaurants in Atlanta. There was an overwhelming response, with so many people eager to help spread the sushi gospel here in A-Town. From the ultimate sushi challenge to a quick bite to eat, it’s crystal clear that Atlanta’s crazy for the Japanese culinary staple!
1. Eight Sushi Lounge
Where: Home Park
This contemporary culinary experience serves up some of the best sushi in Atlanta. The modern design complements the creativity and innovation seen across the menu. We recommend the Casssanova Roll, a masterpiece roll filled with shrimp tempura and crab salad, topped with seared scallops in a dreamy butter garlic sauce.
2. RA Sushi
Where: Midtown
Although RA Sushi is one of the swankier restaurants on this list, this Midtown gem is famous for its happy-hour deals! There’s an extensive sushi menu, however you can’t leave without trying a couple of their tempting cocktails. Have a designated driver at the ready.
3. Satto Thai & Sushi Bar
Where: Marietta Street Artery
It’s not just sushi that allures the tastebuds on this extensive menu. Expect institutional Thai dishes that’ll make you want to order a feast. However, never forget ordering some sushi at Satto Thai & Sushi Bar.
4. Fūdo Sushi
Where: Chamblee
Fūdo means food with no limits, and the options at this sushi safe-heaven are both limitless and continuously impressive. Not only are their sushi rolls perfect to throw back with family or friends, but their dumplings are an absolute must too!
5. O-Ku
Where: Home Park
This super chic sushi restaurant is perfect for date night, or a celebratory meal! Featuring sushi and other Japanese classics, enjoy your meal on their top notch roof deck with views of our iconic skyline. The Salmon Usuzukuri at O-Ku is perfect if you love your sushi to pack a punch. If it’s too spicy, there’s an awesome selection of cocktails on offer!
6. MF Sushi
Where: Inman Park
If you’re looking to treat yourself, then consider checking out MF Sushi. This sleek Inman Park hotspot specializes in elaborately presented sushi, turning their innovative dishes into works of art. The freshness and quality of the ingredients is evident every single time.
7. Monkey 68
Where: Roswell
One of the many incredible women-owned restaurants beloved in Atlanta’s culinary scene, Monkey 68 serves up innovative Pan-Asian comfort food, with their sushi being our favorite part of this tempting menu.
8. Budi’s Sushi
Where: Sweet Auburn/Oakland
Searching for the ultimate sushi challenge in Atlanta? Look no further than Budi’s Sushi. Their signature Sushi Pyramid has become an iconic challenge known across the city. Are you brave enough to take on challenge? If not, there’s an excellent menu of sushi, classic ramen & teriyaki dishes!
9. Kang Nam
Where: Doraville
For a relaxing stress-free atmosphere with sushi, sashimi & an extensive Japanese kitchen fare, head to Kang Nam. The variety available can be overwhelming, although we’re always excited to try something new. We recommend trying a couple of small plates with your chosen rolls and sashimi!
10. One Flew South
This adored airport sushi bar and restaurant has become such a smash, that it recently opened a brand new location on the BeltLine. What’s unique about this spot is that the menu makes a fusion between Southern food and Asian classics. Click here for more information.
11. Wagaya
Where: Westside & Emory Village
With two locations across the city, it’s clear Atlanta’s in love with Wagaya. You’ll get a true taste of authentic Japanese cuisine at this ATL gem. If you’re a little tired of sushi, try out their udon noodles. The broth is to die for! However, we’re always tempted by the sushi menu for their unique takes on those traditional rolls and flavors.
12. Brush Sushi
Where: Decatur
Presentation is clearly key when Brush Sushi put together their spectacular creations. With an authentic atmosphere and wide-variety of dishes on offer, this high-end izakaya are known for their irresistible small plates and ramen broth.
13. Lily Sushi Bar
Where: Alpharetta
For high quality sushi in the heart of Alpharetta, check out Lily Sushi Bar. With great food, a great atmosphere, great service, and music! This place has everything you need if you’re a lover of all things sushi. We love the spicy tuna crispy rice roll so make sure you try it out if that sounds like something up your street.
14. Thaicoon & Sushi Bar
Where: Druid Hills
You’ll be magically transported to Thailand as soon as you step inside Thaicoon. With Japanese and Thai menus on offer, this Druid Hills gem is a great option if you’re craving some sushi!
15. Sushi Avenue on the Square
Where: Decatur
Sushi, teriyaki, donburi & other Japanese fare, Sushi Avenue on the Square is the place for sushi-lovers in Decatur. We’re in love with their lunch menu and recommend getting a bento box with your rolls! Dumplins on the side wouldn’t hurt, either!
