According to a new report from Rough Draft Atlanta, “Global Black Pride, a global event dedicated to Black LGBTQ+ communities, has chosen Atlanta as the host city for 2024.”
We’re so excited to host the first-ever Global Black Pride event in the United States, and even more excited for the collaboration with our very own Atlanta Black Pride Weekend! As the LGBTQ+ capital of the south, we love our October and June Pride celebrations! And we can’t wait to add a specifically Black Queer Pride event to the list!
Global Black Pride x Atlanta Black Pride Weekend Event Details
This weekend-long festival will include tons of celebrations and festivities! Attendees of the festival can expect three unique stages, showcasing all kinds of mind-blowing talent. With cutting-edge art, immersive experiences, drag, and so much more, there’s a little something for everyone! Expect thrilling musical performances including tons of genres like: House, Pop, Drag, Circuit, Techno and so much more!
Global Black Pride says:
This festival will be the largest gathering of Black LGBTQI+ individuals and allies, set in the heart of Atlanta’s vibrant community… This event is set to be a monumental occasion, reflecting the rich culture and resilience of the Black LGBTQI+ community.

About Global Black Pride
Global Black Pride, an organization that advocates for Black queer love internationally, will host this first ever U.S. event.
They write on their website, “Founded by GBGMC in 2020, Global Black Pride (GBP) is the first global Pride organization that brings together Black LGBTQI+ communities across all continents to celebrate culture and diversity, providing a space for activists and community-based organizations across the globe to engage and reflect.”
Malik Brown, the City’s Director of LGBTQ Affairs said in a statement reported by Rough Draft Atlanta, “Atlanta proudly stands as the LGBTQ capital of the south and a champion for human rights, not only in our region but on a global scale. We are honored to welcome the first-ever Global Black Pride gathering in the United States to the vibrant City of Atlanta.”
