Macon is hosting a blooming lovely Cherry Blossom Festival starting at the end of March.
An hour or so away from Atlanta is the enchanting city of Macon. In late March, the city annually hosts the International Cherry Blossom Festival.
Almost 350,000 Yoshino Cherry Trees bloom around the city every year, and have done since 1982. In 2020, the usual festivities were cancelled but this year things are returning in a COVID-safe way.
The Yoshino cherry trees turn Macon into a pink paradise, and it’s definitely a Georgian gem that’s worth checking out.
From March the 19th up until the 28th, several events will be taking place all over the city in honor of their gorgeous habitants.
The dozen of fun family activities for the springtime extravaganza include hot-air balloons, air shows, colorful parades and fireworks displays.
There’s a Cherry Blossom Trail that highlights all the neighborhoods in the city with the best displays. Additionally, there’ll be a Food Truck Frenzy with delicious offerings of traditional and unique street food.
Make sure you check out the International Cherry Blossom Festival in Macon from March 19-28.
