Halloween is the perfect time for a spooky, gorey play. There’s nowhere else you can experience loads of fake blood and horrors happening right before your very eyes!
This year, the Atlanta Shakespeare Tavern is excited to produce an incredibly unique take on the classic novel, Dracula, by Bram Stoker. In collaboration with Havoc Movement, the Atlanta Shakespeare Company presents Dracula: The Failings of Men. This spooky show will descend on the Shakespeare Tavern stage for the entirety of October, including a show on Halloween itself!
What is Dracula: The Failings of Men?
This play is nothing like your high school English class’s reading of the classic novel (or, I guess maybe it is if you went to an insanely cool high school). This play is a one-of-a-kind action horror reimagining of Dracula. Written by Benedetto Robinson, this adaptation lets Bram Stoker’s original prose shine, while adding its own twists and turns. The story follows the greatest vampire hunt of all time, led by Dr. Ada Van Helsing and Dr. Jack Seward, but takes an interesting turn when a deserted ship crashes on the shore of London and strange things begin to happen. Men go mad, women sleepwalk right into the arms of death, and so much more.
Audiences can expect fast-paced fights, aerial dance, and larger than life blood effects, all right before your very eyes!
Havoc Movement is thrilled to bring this twist on a classic to Atlanta at last. You don’t want to miss out on this impressive reimagining of the well-known classic!
And don’t forget, the Shakespeare Tavern is one of the most haunted spots in Atlanta, so you’ll definitely get a spook no matter what!
