First the green comet and now the supermoon! This month has been full of firsts and we couldn’t be more excited to share where to get a glimpse of this gorgeous sight. This upcoming sighting is called a supermoon because it is within 90% of its closest point to Earth. This weekend we can expect to experience the first one of the season on Saturday January 21.
This weekend’s Supermoon will be the first one since the Middle Ages! The moon won’t get this close to the Earth again for another 345 years. This phase we get to experience is also called the new Moon, when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to see this from Earth. Most super moons aren’t seen unless they are an eclipse, BUT full super moons are the ones to be on the lookout for.
This supermoon is the perfect time for introspection and taking time for self. To get the most out of this first new moon, charging up crystals and setting intentions is a must. Some crystals to consider this weekend include black tourmaline, black obsidian, smokey quartz, and labradorite. Take some time for self and check in with yourself as you soak in the new energy this new moon will be bringing in!
