With World Mental Health Day coming up on Monday October 10, it’s important that we make sure we are checking in with ourselves. It seems like mercury in retrograde really cleared out some energies that were no longer serving us. Doors were being closed whether we liked it or not and now it’s time for us to make space for all the newness trying to enter our lives.
Sometimes life can get overwhelming and we can feel like we are in this thing called life alone, but WE AREN’T. It may be hard to see that in the midst of so much change and in an era of comparison. Constantly bombarded with where everyone else’s “highlight reel” in life, it becomes natural to compare. We have to remember our journey is our own and it is NOT LINEAR. So if you have to take a few steps back to take some forward that is completely ok.
Finding ways to support our mental health can also feel draining, luckily you have us and we have found the perfect event to help soothe anxious thoughts and maybe connect with others. The latest community, Black Female and Male Therapists (BFMT) has truly dedicated themselves to creating a safe environment for those seeking to empower those in their wellness journeys. While they are geared towards helping those in black and brown communities that have experience disparities within the mental health department, its services are accessible to everyone and BFT is inclusive of all identities.
They are launching their first ever Yoga in the Park, this Saturday October 8 10am – 12pm. Yoga will take place 10-12 followed by a sound bath meditation and then a giveaway. This event will be the perfect way to honor yourself, your feelings and where you may be on your own personal journey. The best part is that this event is FREE! Learn more here. They also provide other resources such as a podcast, classes, and affirmations! Remember you are not alone. Sending love and light. Details on event location below.
