The latest exhibition coming to Atlanta will be honoring emerging female artists. The art scene in Atlanta has gradually and consistently become a hub for so many amazing artists. With one of the most prestigious art schools, SCAD, located in the heart of the city, it only makes sense that we honor the work of this amazing artists.
The exhibition’s organized by the Georgia Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. The goal of this exhibition was to examine how women envision a different world, based on the conditions society has created. The challenging question of what does an alternative reality look like for them is the theme for this years exhibition. Guests can expect see works from five emerging women artists, Namwon Choi, Shanequa Gay, Marianna Dixon Williams, Victoria Dugger, and Anila Agha.
This highly competitive exhibition is held every three years and is designed to increase the visibility of, and critical response to, promising women artists. Women to Watch is an exhibition program with a focus on giving a platform to underrepresented and emerging women artists. They have continued to provide visibility at their exhibition (76% of its exhibiting artists are female), and hope to increase that number in the coming years.
