If you’re searching for something to do to honor Martin Luther King Day this month, then we suggest checking out this marvelous celebration taking over Sandy Springs, as its annual tribute to the late ATL hero returns for a jam-packed day of family-fun.
Taking place on MLK Day (January 16), the festivities will begin at 1:00 p.m, featuring interactive art projects and a film designed to celebrate, educate, and share the teachings of Dr. King.
The art projects include create your own “Dream Cloud” craft inspired by King’s iconic “I Have a Dream” speech, bookmark creation and decoration, plus more.
There will even be a Live Storytime for the little ones, with readings of picture books such as My Brother Martin, written by King’s sister, Dr. Christine King Farris.
The movie screening will be of Emmy Award-nominated film, Our Friend, Martin, an animated children’s educational film about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Civil Rights movement.
