What’s going on at the Georgia Aquarium ahead of the World Cup?

Georgia Aquarium CEO, Travis Burke, teased an awesome new addition to the aquarium: a new species!
What’s moving in? Well… it’s a secret.
While speaking about expanding the otter exhibit ahead of the World Cup, Burke said, according to WSB-TV,
[We’re] opening it up probably three times as large as it was before, and there’s gonna be a new species that will be overhead.
In other words, we don’t know exactly what new species is headed to the Georgia Aquarium, but we’re excited to check it out once we know!

Burke also clarified that this isn’t just for the tourists coming to our city for the World Cup. It’s for Atlanta residents too. WSB-TV reports that Burke says,
We are very excited about the World Cup. We want our guests, the folks who live here to still come to Georgia Aquarium. We’re here for you
So whether you’re a global soccer fan headed to Atlanta for the FIFA World Cup (welcome!) or you live here full time (love ya!), there’s something for you to enjoy at the Georgia Aquarium and beyond in our city.
And as soon as we know all about the new species coming to the ATL, we’ll let you know too!
