It’s strawberry-picking season, Atlanta!
When spring is in full bloom, going strawberry picking is always an enjoyable (and delicious) day out here in Georgia! With warmer and brighter weather, flowers in full bloom, and strawberries in season, what are you waiting for? In and around the Atlanta Metro area, there are several places to pick strawberries. There are even some family fun options like farms where you could spend the whole day, and Strawberry Festivals!
Strawberry picking season can fluctuate a little depending on the year and the weather, usually starting in April and expected to last until June/early July. Due to last winter’s Christmas freeze, Georgia’s crop was delayed for about a week or two, which meant that the produce was also harvested a bit later. So, take a look below to see where you can get the freshest strawberries. Always double-check with the farm before expecting the U-pick options to be open.
1. Southern Belle Farm
Southern Belle Farm is a family owned 330 acre working farm. They are open seasonally for fresh produce, berry picking, peach picking, fall fun, and much more! Escape the city and travel to the country to pick strawberries right from the field! Youโre invited to stay and play at the farm, too! You can’t leave this place without trying their homemade strawberry ice-cream!

6. Ecosystem Farm

They provide picking buckets and bags, but youโre welcome to bring your own containers for picking up strawberries. The farm is expected to have another 6-8 weeks left in their strawberry season. Starting July, Ecosystem Farm will be open for appointments every other day.

7. Fitzgerald Fruit Farms
This is definitely one of the best farms around if you’re looking for a plan to do with your kids and family. Fitzgerald Fruit Farms is the largest first-generation peach operation in the state. There’s always homemade ice cream and fresh produce all year round. This year, due to storm damage, as of May, the strawberry patch hasn’t opened yet, but with the temperature rise things should be picking up in no time. So, make sure to call in advance to get the latest update. And for some adult fun, try their sweet strawberry wine!
