It’s strawberry-picking season, Atlanta!
With spring in the air, one of the most fun things to do this season is pick your very own strawberries! The sweet red berries tell us that warm weather, longer days, and tons of sweetness are on the way!
Strawberry picking season can fluctuate a little depending on the year and the weather, but it usually begins in April and is expected to last until late June/early July. So take a look below to see where you can get the freshest strawberries, ready to pick and enjoy. (Always double-check with the farm before expecting the U-pick options to be open.)
1. Southern Belle Farm
Southern Belle Farm is an Atlanta favorite when it comes to U-Pick events all throughout the year. Southern Belle is the perfect spot to get the freshest strawberries around!
The family owned 330 acre farm boasts more than just delicious fresh strawberries this season! Make a day of it and enjoy playing on the farm too, which hosts a ton of fun spring activities. You also can’t leave without trying their homemade strawberry ice-cream! Mouth-watering!

Mitcham Farm is about 30 minutes from Atlanta, and boasts some of the yummiest u-pick strawberry spots around. There, you’ll get to bite into the sweetness of a sun-warmed strawberry, and enjoy tons of fun activities! And don’t leave without trying one of their iconic and delicious strawberry slushees!
And you can’t miss out on their annual Strawberry Festival, which will be held on April 27th, 2024 this year! At the Strawberry Festival, you can expect tons of fun events, entertainment, arts, and of course, a plethora of strawberry (and other flavored) treats!

Established in 2011, Whitley Farms is a veteran, family-owned business. Their farm has a unique, timeless feel. The farm offers pick-your-own and pre-picked berries at their stand. From strawberries and blueberries to homemade jams and even honey from their very own bees, you can find everything your heart desires, even fresh homemade fruit cobblers.
And they also teach classes like jam-making, pickling, and so much more!

Compared to the big-scale farms we’re used in Georgia, Ecosystem Farm is tiny! Located in South Atlanta, Ecosystem Farm is one of the only u-pick farms that’s actually IN Atlanta! They’ve only got about 3800 strawberry plants, which is why you need to make appointment for u-pick strawberries in advance to make sure you get some! They provide picking buckets and bags, but you’re welcome to bring your own containers for picking up strawberries.
They plan to open the last week of April, but make sure you check out their website to keep up with updates!

This is definitely one of the best farms around if you’re looking for a plan to do with your kids and family. Fitzgerald Fruit Farms is the largest first-generation peach operation in the state. There’s always homemade ice cream and fresh produce all year round.
They have not yet announced their strawberry u-pick season, but it usually begins in May.

Another classic U-Pick farm spots in Georgia is Jaemor Farms in Alto, GA! Boasting over 150,000 strawberry plants, there’s plenty of strawberry picking to be done at Jaemor! You can spend the day picking the delicious berries, and enjoy some of their homemade strawberry goodies while you’re at it, including their famous Strawberry ‘Million Dollar Pie.’

A family farm devoted completely to strawberry picking, LCCL Strawberry Farm is the perfect spot to grab those juicy, ruby red berries! They remind us that strawberry season doesn’t last super long, so don’t miss out on the freshest berries while you still can!
