
It’s strawberry-picking season, Atlanta! With spring in the air, one of the most fun things to do this season is pick your very own strawberries! The sweet red berries tell us that warm weather, longer days, and tons of sweetness are on the way!
Strawberry picking season can fluctuate a little depending on the year and the weather, but it usually begins in April and is expected to last until late June/early July. So take a look below to see where you can get the freshest strawberries, ready to pick and enjoy. (Always double-check with the farm before expecting the U-pick options to be open.)
1. Southern Belle Farm

Southern Belle Farm is an Atlanta favorite when it comes to U-Pick events all throughout the year. Southern Belle is the perfect spot to get the freshest strawberries around!
The family owned 330 acre farm boasts more than just delicious fresh strawberries this season! Make a day of it and enjoy playing on the farm too, which hosts a ton of fun spring activities. You also can’t leave without trying their homemade strawberry ice-cream! Mouth-watering!

Mitcham Farm is about 30 minutes from Atlanta, and boasts some of the yummiest u-pick strawberry spots around. There, you’ll get to bite into the sweetness of a sun-warmed strawberry, and enjoy tons of fun activities! And don’t leave without trying one of their iconic and delicious strawberry slushees!
And you can’t miss out on their annual Strawberry Festival, which will be held on April 27th, 2024 this year! At the Strawberry Festival, you can expect tons of fun events, entertainment, arts, and of course, a plethora of strawberry (and other flavored) treats!

This is definitely one of the best farms around if you’re looking for a plan to do with your kids and family. Fitzgerald Fruit Farms is the largest first-generation peach operation in the state. There’s always homemade ice cream and fresh produce all year round.
They have not yet announced their strawberry u-pick season, but it usually begins in April.

Another classic U-Pick farm spots in Georgia is Jaemor Farms in Alto, GA! Boasting over 150,000 strawberry plants, there’s plenty of strawberry picking to be done at Jaemor! You can spend the day picking the delicious berries, and enjoy some of their homemade strawberry goodies while you’re at it, including their famous Strawberry ‘Million Dollar Pie.’

If you’re looking for a nice little day trip from the city, you’ve gotta check out Elliot Farm in Lizella, Georgia! They’ve got your classic U-pick strawberries, along with onions, tomatoes, squash, red potatoes, green beans, okra, and ground beef!
