Any list of adorable, unique small towns in Georgia would be remiss to leave off Helen, Georgia’s one-of-a-kind Alpine village!
This little town will make you feel like you’ve stepped right into a storybook all year round. Their most famous season are October (for Oktoberfest) and winter (for Christmas) BUT! during the summer, they have tons of fun activities to enjoy as well, including shooting the ‘Hooch on a river float, hiking, mountain coasters, and more!
Dahlonega

Georgia’s famous Gold Rush town, Dahlonega not only has a super interesting history (the Georgia Gold Rush predates the California Gold Rush!), but there are so many fun things to check out there too.
Dahlonega is the storybook small town that looks like it’s straight out of a Hallmark movie (and… it is. They’ve shot many a Lifetime holiday movie there). It’s a big film town, with its most recent credit being ‘His & Hers’ on Netflix.
You can wander their charming small town, enjoying local cuisine, artisan shops, and gold memorabilia.

For a fun escape to a super unique small town, head to Rome, Georgia. Named after the iconic European city, Rome offers a ton of local charm: from ice cream shops to bars and delis and beyond!
And… Rome is a massive film town! Along with hosting the Rome International Film Fest, or RIFF, every November, which hosts celebrities like Billy Bob Thornton, Ethan Hawk, and so many more, tons of blockbusters and famous shows film in Rome all year round.
