When it comes to traffic laws in Atlanta, we pretty much know them. Follow the speed limit, wear your seatbelt, no texting and driving, come to a complete stop at stop signs… you get it. But what about Georgia’s weirdest traffic law?
What’s the weirdest traffic law in Georgia?

Well, according to a report by Nationwide, which details the oddest traffic law from every state, the weirdest traffic law in the state is about… spitting.
In Georgia, it’s illegal to spit from a car or bus, but it’s OK to spit from a truck. So if you’re planning on rolling down your window to spit (ew), you better be in a truck and not a car or on MARTA (not that you can just roll the windows down).
Of course, this isn’t even the craziest law on the list. We’ve gotta say that Florida, our neighbors to the south, take the cake for that one. In Florida, “by law, you must feed the parking meter if you tie an elephant, goat or alligator to it.”

In fact, Atlanta ranks in the top 10 worst cities for traffic in the U.S. Our average daily commute in the ATL is actually longer than a daily commute in L.A.
… and now that’s really saying something!
So make sure you’re following the laws (even the weird ones), Atlanta! And we’ll see ya on the roads.
