Today’s the day! It’s time for the Great North American Solar Eclipse!
If you’re excited to gaze up at the insanely cool eclipse today, you’re definitely going to need some protective eyewear! Even a few seconds of exposure to the sun can damage your eyes… and we don’t want that!
There are several places where you can still snag some glasses, thoug! So whether you’re running out to get some on your lunch break or you just procrastinated til the last second (we aren’t judging), we’ve got some spots for you to check out!
Where can I get solar eclipse glasses in Atlanta?
Warby Parker
Warby Parker has been giving out solar eclipse glasses all April, so we suggest calling to see if they’re out at this point. If not, there are 3 locations you can check: Buckhead (274 Buckhead Ave. NE), Ponce City Market (650 North Ave. NE), and the Westside Provisions development (1198 Howell Mill Rd).
Jeni’s Ice Cream
Not only can you get some delicious eclipse-themed ice cream, but you can grab a pair of free glasses while you’re at it! Jeni’s is serving up Supermoon, Nebula Berry, Cosmic Bloom, and Purple Star Born as their eclipse flavors! Don’t delay, try them out and grab your glasses!
Public Libraries
According to 11Alive News, “Some libraries around metro Atlanta are participating in the Solar Eclipse Activities for Libraries (SEAL) program which has made glasses available. You can check this map for participating libraries (best advice is to also call your library and see if they have any you can get).”
1105 West Peachtree’s Solar Eclipse Watch Party
If you go to 1105 West Peachtree to watch the eclipse today, you can grab a pair of complimentary glasses in the lobby! Then head up to the 9th level to watch the eclipse unfold!
Atlantic Station
Another solar eclipse event with free glasses included, you can grab glasses while supplies last on the green at Atlantic Station! Enjoy tons of fun on the green, too, with a live DJ, events, and so much more!
