This weekend, Atlanta is in for some freezing cold weather, especially on Sunday, January 19th, 2025.
Of course, we just experienced Atlanta’s iconic snow day (wanna know how much snow we got? Check it out right here!), but we’re already gearing up for some more chilly weather!
This weekend, it’ll be colder than Alaska in Atlanta, so get ready to bundle up and stay warm!
How cold will it be this weekend?
It’s gonna be COLD! Right now the predicted low for Sunday night is 21 degrees, but it could even dip into the high teens. That’s colder than Anchorage, Alaska’s 31 degree low on Sunday night… wow.
According to Atlanta Patch,
Temperatures in Georgia and other parts of the southeastern region will be 10-20 degrees below the historical average.
Will it snow again?
We don’t want to speak too soon… but the truth is, maybe. That’s right, we could get snow again in the span of one week in Atlanta–unheard of!
According to AccuWeather,
Rain will soak much of the Southeast from Friday night to Saturday evening. A couple of the thunderstorms that develop can be locally heavy as well.
But if the rain continues into Sunday or Monday, with the cold weather, there could be a chance of flurries or a wintery mix. It’s still a little too early to tell.
What should I do to prepare?
For now, just make sure you’ve got plenty of warm clothes! If we see that a winter storm is imminent, we’d recommend stocking up on non-perishable food and making sure you’re able to be inside, out of the cold!
If you wanna grab a nice warm drink–we’ve got plenty of great suggestions for ya here!
Enjoy the chilly weekend, Atlanta!
