Sunday night, HBO’s Emmy-winning show, ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ finally came to an end.
The episode wraps up the season-long plot of Larry David’s character’s trial right here in Atlanta. After handing a woman a glass of water while waiting to vote in Atlanta (which violates a 2021 voting law, unbeknownst to Larry David’s character) in the beginning of the season, he must stand trial for his ‘crimes.’ David’s character didn’t know anything about the law, but he becomes a local liberal hero anyway, with famous fans like Stacey Abrams and other recognizable names.
This causes the whole ensemble to head to Atlanta to support David during his trial. Of course chaos ensues, and all your favorite characters make an appearance.
The most famous appearance however is that of Jerry Seinfeld. With Larry David about to end up in a jail cell, it seemed only fitting to have Seinfeld on the show, since his iconic show, ‘Seinfeld’ ended the same way 26 years ago.
**Spoilers Below**
Just as Larry is found guilty and sentenced to jail for a year, Jerry Seinfeld comes in to save the day. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Thanks to a fortuitous encounter at a nearby restaurant, Jerry was able to out one of the jurors for breaking the sequestering rule. A mistrial is declared and Larry’s sentence has been thrown out.”
Seinfeld declares, “Larry is a free man!”
Then he adds, “You don’t wanna end up like this. Nobody wants to see it. Trust me.” Of course, this serves as a huge wink wink nudge nudge to the Seinfeld series finale all those years ago.
We’re so happy that the series finale took place in Atlanta–even if it was just a fictionalized version of our city!
