Atlanta is a city known for its vibrant cultures, with people from different backgrounds all living together in one place. One of the many wonderful advantages to living in a place with so much diversity is, of course, diversity of food! Atlanta has tons of great options (you can check out just some of the many, many choices here! If you’re hoping to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with some cultural eats and drinks, we’ve also got you covered with a list of Mexican restaurants!
And if you’re looking for a local gem, look no further than El Tesoro, which translates to ‘The Treasure.’
The delicious traditional taco shop actually has two locations, one in Edgewood and one in West End, which opened more recently in partnership with Wild Heaven, to spread the love across Atlanta.
The Edgewood location, the original, started with just a dream, a 14-seat counter and delicious food, and has since evolved into a huge, 7,000 square foot patio with a full bar and kitchen. The love from the community has been enough to want to transform the place to hold more and more customers.
El Tesoro’s unique vibe of an outdoor eatery with a walk-up counter draws people from all over to try their tasty traditional Mexican cuisine. We recommend the mulita de puerco verde or their incredible Guerrero style tamales! El Tesoro strives to bring flavors from all over Mexico to Atlanta, both with fan favorites and menu items rarely seen at other places!
El Tesoro is the perfect place to grab a margarita and tacos in the evening or a weekend brunch, with street style food and delicious coffee. Whatever flavors from Mexico you’re craving, El Tesoro is the right spot for you. And as the cherry on the cake, El Tesoro also frequently hosts events like artisan markets to connect with the community!
