For all the horror movie buffs out there, Atlanta is the place to be this Halloween season! Our iconic theaters are showing the spookiest, scariest and most fun Halloween movies this October, so don’t miss out!
1. The Starlight Drive-In Theatre
The Starlight is an iconic Atlanta theatre for one big reason. It’s a drive-in movie theatre! Make your movie more of an experience by heading to Starlight to watch some super spooky flicks!
This season they’re showing The Equalizer 3, The Nun II, Saw X, and The Exorcist: Believer. All absolutely terrifying films.

2. The Plaza Theatre
Atlanta’s oldest and possibly most iconic theaters is also getting in on all the Halloween fun! They’re showing more spooky and fun Halloween films than we can list, but some of the highlights include the 1987 classic, Hellraiser, which will show on Halloween (Oct. 31st), complete with special drinks and a costume contest, and Wussy Vision’s Hocus Pocus on October 25th, which will also have special drinks and a costume contest!

3. The Midtown Arts Cinema
This Midtown gem is nestled in a hub of bars and restaurants, and shows films in an art deco theatre–truly a film buff’s dream. Their lineup of films is amazing, including Halloween-y and non-seasonal film favorites!
For Halloween, they’ll be screening the film that redefined movie terror forever, Halloween, on October 25th. Don’t miss out on this spooky event!

4. AMC Madison Yards 8
The Madison Yards AMC is one of Atlanta’s coziest theaters, with seats that recline, a full bar and concessions stand (get the mozzarella sticks, and thank me later)!
For Halloween, they’re getting spooky with showings of The Equalizer 3 and The Exorcist: Believer, as well as some more family-friendly showings, like the 35th Anniversary showing of Beetlejuice!

5. The Tara
Tara is one of Atlanta’s most beloved theaters. It almost closed up for good recently, but was saved at the last moment, and we’re so thankful! This traditional theatre with lots of old-school film memorabilia is the perfect place to sit back and watch a scary flick.
This Halloween season, Wussy Art House is presenting Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Dead for the viewing pleasure of all scary movie lovers! Also, grab tickets to see The Mummy (1959) for another classic spook!
