The Bridgerton season 4 finale is almost here. While we anxiously await the last few episodes, here’s an Atlanta day trip to enjoy this weekend that looks straight out of the regal Shondaland world. Swan House in Atlanta is a striking neoclassical mansion nestled in the Buckhead neighborhood. Now part of the Atlanta History Center, this grand landmark that sits on a historic 28‑acre estate was inspired by 18th-century European designs—and you may recognize it from The Hunger Games.
Swan House: a Bridgerton day trip in Atlanta

Designed by prominent Atlanta architect Philip Trammell Shutze, Swan House was built in 1928. The wealthy Inman family lived there until 1965. Then the Atlanta Historical Society bought the property and opened it to the public as a house museum.
Thanks to its gorgeous Second Renaissance Revival architecture, Swan House has provided the backdrop for major Hollywood movies. There’s a cascading fountain, double-curving staircases and an Italian Mannerist façade that borrows motifs from Villa Corsini in Rome—you may recognize it as President Snow’s palace in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2.
There’s also a reason why this place looks just like somewhere the Birdgerton cast like Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) and Lady Whistledown (Nicola Coughlan) would reside. It elegantly mixes Italian Renaissance influences on one façade with hallmarks of 18th-century English country houses on the other. Inside, you’ve got Gibbons-inspired wood carvings, bold door pediments and wall ornaments inspired by English Palladian decoration—pure Bridgerton Regency bliss.
