Atlanta is full of fun things to do, job opportunities, cool events, and of course, it’s the cultural hub of the southeast. So it’s no surprise, really, that, according to a new study by JB, Atlanta is one of the top cities in the country for young adults. Where does Atlanta rank on the list of ‘best cities for young adults’?

Atlanta comes in at #5, just above Baltimore. Here’s the top 5 cities in the U.S.:
- Pittsburgh
- Boston
- Washington, DC
- Milwaukee
- Atlanta
JB says,
Atlanta rounds out the top five cities for young adults. Residents here bring home close to $5,000 each month, while paying more affordable rents at $1,500. The job market stays strong as well, with low unemployment (4%) making finding work easier, even for an early-career professional. Like Boston and Milwaukee, there are plenty of opportunities to meet someone in Atlanta, too, as almost 68% of locals are single.
How did JB come up with this data?

Researchers at JB took a look at 30 major urban areas to find the best spots for young people to ~actually~ enjoy city life. Some of the things they considered were:
- housing costs
- monthly salaries
- whether young people can find jobs easily
- dating prospects
- restaurant and bar availability
- walkability
- safety
- commute times
And as a relatively cheap city with good jobs and a high rate of singles, Atlanta is definitely the place to be for young adults!
