
It’s lights, camera, action in the ATL!
Atlanta has become one of the most popular locations to film in the United States, that’s outside of Los Angeles. In fact, we’ve gained such status that many dub us the Hollywood of the South. You can keep track of all the productions happening on the Georgia state website. To honor this, we thought we’d share some exciting things coming to a TV or silver screen near you, being filmed here, in the ATL!
1. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
The sequel to Black Panther is on its way, and once again, Marvel are on location in the ATL & Georgia. Marvel have been spotted filming several projects here in Atlanta, including the 2021 Disney+ series Hawkeye, starring Hailee Steinfeld & Vera Farmiga.
2. The Walking Dead
It’s no secret that The Walking Dead film in the ATL and Georgia. With dozens of iconic spots popping up throughout it’s ten season run, we wonder if we’ll recognize any spots in their upcoming eleventh season.
3. Halloween Ends
Last year’s reboot of the 1978 horror classic Halloween wasn’t enough for some horror fans. Luckily, the final adaptation of the beloved franchise is on the way, entitled Halloween Ends. Once again, the iconic Jamie Lee Curtis will return to reprise her role as Laurie Strode.
4. Dynasty
The fifth season of the modern reboot of the 1980s prime time soap opera Dynasty, is currently being filmed in Atlanta. The scandalous fictional drama is about the two richest families in the country, battling it out and plotting malicious schemes to reign supreme.
5. The Real Housewives of Atlanta
Love it or hate it, The Real Housewives has become a global phenomenon. As one of the OG cities, RHOA premiered in 2008 following Orange County and New York City. Now filming its fourteenth season, it’s become one of the most beloved shows from the franchise, rolling out superstar reality stars like Nene Leakes and Kandi Burruss. Kandi recently announced that she has a brand new spin-off coming to Bravo entitled Kandi & the Gang.
6. Creed III
The third instalment of the sports drama Creed plans to be in movie theatres this upcoming winter. Star of the movie, Michael Jordan, was spotted filming here in Atlanta in January. Not only is it the anticipated sequel to Creed (2015) and Creed II (2018), but it’s the ninth installment in the Rocky franchise.
