For the 2nd year, Arabia Alliance is hosting a Juneteenth Storytelling Festival to honor and celebrate the history of Juneteenth!
This year, Arabia Alliance’s Storytelling Festival will take place near the ruins of the Bruce Street School, which was the first public school for Black students in Dekalb County. (Learn more about its history here!)
What can attendees of the Storytelling Festival expect?
The Storytelling Festival is a community event that celebrates African American lives, joy an excellence! Listen to history come to life straight from Arabia Alliance staff members and community Elders. The festival will include story-sharing, oral histories, free books, produce, lunch, and cool treats!
The theme of this second Annual Storytelling Fest will be “On The Streets Where We Live.” Festival goers will have the chance to share stories and oral histories about the vibrant Black communities here in Georgia and in the Deep South in general.
This day will be full of love, community, and sharing. Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity! Bring your family and friends!
