Summer is just around the corner, so cool off at one of these wonderful waterfalls in Georgia.
You don’t have to look far for a spectacular waterfall in Georgia. Why don’t you go for the perfect, Georgian hike over the summer, and soak up the natural beauty of our gorgeous Peach State.
1. Amicalola Falls
Located in Northeast Georgia, Amicalola Falls will blow you away. There are short hikes or more advanced routes, all boasting beautiful waterfalls throughout. Amicalola is Cherokee for “tumbling waters”, and the bridges will allow you to get up-close and a little wet from this breathtaking Georgian gem.
2. Long Creek Falls
Where: Three Forks
Nestled on the famous Appalachian Trail are several waterfalls called the Long Creek Falls. This lush creek valley is an incredible hiking spot with plenty of places to pause to stop, rest, eat, and soak up the beauty of Georgia.
3. Jacks River Falls
For super fresh water, stunning scenes, and dancing water, head to Jack River Falls. Located in the Cohutta Wilderness Area, you’re going to want to spend the entire day exploring this place!
4. Vickery Leek Trail
One of Atlanta’s favorite hiking spots that follows the Chattahoochee River. Highlights include the man-made waterfall from the Big Creek Mill. Make sure you take your swimsuit if the weather is calling for a dip.
5. Helton Creek Falls
Where: Chattahoochee National Forest
This Union County gem in Blairsville is absolutely breathtaking. The family-friendly creek is the perfect place to cool off in the summer months.
6. Raven Cliff Falls
You’re going to need to take a five mile round-trip hike to see the spectacular Raven Cliff Falls. The main waterfall is 90-feet-high, and at the top there’s stunning views of Georgia’s natural beauty. The surrounding forest is so enchanting, you’ll think it’s magic.
7. Anna Ruby Falls
Another addition from Helen, but can you blame us? Formed by Curtis and York creeks, Anna Ruby Falls is a lot easier to access compared to Raven Cliff, and just as beautiful!
